The stripy effect of this kitchen worktop is created by slicing cross-sections of reclaimed Channel Tunnel support beams. The open-plan shelving is made from reclaimed floor joists with the big bolts fixing them to the wall being left deliberately on show. The signal red Formica doors are designed simply with scalloped handles to reveal the birch-ply backing.
